The Curse: Unleashed

Company: The Willink
Taking inspiration from Fright Nights at Thorpe Park, I created a Live Action Horror Maze with confined spaces, special effects, dark walkways and terrifying live actors. It was built and planned around a fully-fabricated storyline, 'based on real events' which gained maximum publicity. You can see this storyline in the trailer for The Curse: Unleashed (right).
One of my strongest aims was to ensure this project was not classed as a 'haunted house' or ghost train that you might find at a funfair. A huge amount of work went into ensuring it had a strong storyline and plenty of substance.
The months of planning to make sure that this experience was the stuff of nightmares paid off; it was so popular, the original maze was brought back for a second year running. Back at the helm once more, I made sure that it didn't simply 'return', but was upgraded with new content and a terrifying new twist inside the experience to spark intrigue (and ticket sales) once more.
Murder Mystery

Planning, writing, staging & performing an interactive Murder Mystery based around fictional characters, Lord and Lady Willink proved a challenging feat, but one that worked very well indeed. Strong characterisation and an even stronger storyline were called for, in order to make this a quality and engaging experience.
After witnessing the murder, the interaction factor was set to maximum as the audience were thrust into the heart of the action, to solve the murder and find the killer before they struck again.
As chaos and panic ensued, the audience armed only with advice to 'watch their back' braved it alone and began investigating by questioning the culprits in each room, having to untangle a web of blackmail, lies and deceit along the way.

The Lost City

With the whole of Ancient Greek mythology at my disposal, I transformed an entire indoor location into the ruins of The Lost City.
Unlike other experiences, this was an intense week-long event that needed to draw the crowds back every single day, so it was vital to play upon the mystery and intrigue at the heart of the myths, along with a strong through-line that linked them - other than simply location. For this production, I colloborated with a Greek Mythology expert to ensure both authenticity and quality.
With actors as 'statues' that could only be unlocked with information that was slowly released throughout the week, The Lost City became busier and busier with ever-increasing numbers of people desperate to uncover the mystery.
